Marketa Beth Andris was born October 22, 1926 in Hammon, Oklahoma, one of two daughters to Foy and Johnie (Stout) Ashworth. She entered into rest on January 16, 2021 in Joplin, following a two week illness at the age of 94.
Marketa lived most of her life in the Southwest Missouri area, having lived in Stark City, Fairview and Neosho. She had worked at J.C. Penney's, Montgomery Ward and worked alongside her husband on the family farm. She loved flowers and enjoyed creating beautiful arrangements and had a green thumb. She was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Neosho. Marketa married Jack. W. Andris, Sr. in 1943 and they shared 71 years together before his death on January 28, 2014.
Marketa is survived by two children, Jack W. Andris, Jr. and wife, Diane of Neosho and Sherry Sweckard and husband, Frank of Springfield; one grandson, Jeremy Sweckard and wife, Stephanie; two great granddaughters, Sophia and Scarlett Sweckard and a sister-in-law, Kay Wormington. In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Jo.
Private family services will be held.
