DOVER - John Martin Ilgenfritz, Jr passed away peacefully on Thursday January 14, 2021, at the age of 82. He was married to his loving wife of 63 years, Darlene Mae, who was always by his side.
John was born in Dover on March 26, 1938, to father John Martin Ilgenfritz Sr and mother Bernice Romaine Ilgenfritz. John served in the US Navy from 1956-1960 and is a retired lineman for Met-Ed. He loved to hunt in Potter County, PA and vacation at the beach in Ocean City, MD.
He is survived by his wife, Darlene Mae McCurdy Ilgenfritz; his sister, Joyce Elaine Ehrman; his brother, Kenneth Edward Ilgenfritz; his daughter, Debra Lynn Dixon; his son, John Michael Ilgenfritz (wife, Lori); his son, Eric James Ilgenfritz (wife, Jennifer); his grandchildren:
Jason Martin Dixon (wife, Colette), Ryan Christopher Dixon (wife, Laura), Derek Michael Ilgenfritz (wife, Amber), Dustin John Ilgenfritz (wife, Brittany), Leah Erin McLaughlin (husband, Cody), Zachary Eric Ilgenfritz (wife, Sidney); and his great-grandchildren:Emma Paige Dixon, Chloe Ann Ilgenfritz, Avery Marie Dixon, Riley Christopher Dixon, Dawson John Ilgenfritz, and Ellie Nicole Ilgenfritz.
A private graveside service will be held at Salem Union Cemetery in Dover, PA, with immediate family by invitation only.
