Myrtle Perry Calhoun, 80, passed away peacefully in her home on January 14, 2021 under the care of Transitions LifeCare. Born on August 16, 1940 in Watauga County, NC; she was the daughter of the late Blanco Perry and Genevieve Carpenter Perry.

Married 61 years to W. Calhoun, Mrytle was a loving wife, mother and friend to all.

She was an active member for over 30 years at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church (known for her Banana Pudding at any church function), a member for over 20 years with the Raleigh HOG Chapter, and enjoyed her flowers. Most of all though -- she loved her time with family.

Mrytle was preceded in death by her siblings: Joe Perry (his late wife Barbara), Bill Perry and Theda Lail.

Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, January 19th at 11 am at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Raleigh Memorial Park.

For those unable to attend, the service will be recorded and posted afterwards to the Facebook Page of Mitchell Funeral Home at Raleigh Memorial Park.
