He was baptized at the same time as his parents. Aaron became a trapper and spent his winters trapping on the Provo River. Daniels Creek and Daniels Canyon are both named for him. In 1861 he and his family settled in Wanship, Utah . Aaron built a large building that was used as a mail station. When the stage coach came in, the drivers and passengers could eat and spend the night. Aaron guided wagon companies across the plains and, along with his wife Rose , worked with the Indians, and taught them how to plant. In his own words, "I have had many varied experiences from the early persecutions and riots in Missouri and Illinois . I guided wagon companies across the plains to Utah . Equally exciting and interesting events happened as I trapped, explored, and prospected throughout the western parts of the United States .
