EX-SERVICE MAN DIES OF INJURIES RECEIVED IN CRASH
Funeral services for Ralph Armstrong, 24 year old ex-service man, who died Friday, February 1, at Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville, from injuries received in an automobile crash Thursday afternoon were held at the Lobelville Methodist Church at 2 o'clock Saturday. The Rev. Elbert Walker was in charge of services. Interment was in the Leeper Cemetery.
Young Armstrong was a resident of Lobelville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom Armstrong of that place and received the fatal injuries when a car in which he was riding crashed into a road grader about four miles north of Linden on Highway 13. Two other persons, Andrew Brooks and John Lee Carroll, were riding in the car with Armstrong and received minor cuts and bruises.
Armstrong received his discharge from the army about 60 days ago after being in service about three years, several months of which were spent in the Pacific theater. He was a graduate of Lobelville High School and was engaged in farming prior to entering service.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, J.T. Armstrong of the Marine Corps, and Joe Armstrong of Lobelville, and two sisters, Mrs. Verna Ruth McCoy and Loretta Armstrong, both of Lobelville.
Perry County Burial Association was in charge of interment.
