Philip J. Werner, Long Time Resident, Taken by Death
Philip J. Werner, 83, long a resident of Litchfield, died this morning at 11:10 o'clock at his home, 421 East Buchanan street. He had been ill for several years but confined to his bed only for the last two weeks.
A son of Philip W. and Fridericka F. Werner, he was born at Brighton, Jan. 14, 1863. He was united in marriage with Malinda E. Brown at Carlinville, August 27. 1885. Mrs. Werner preceded her husband in death, May 23, 1939.
Mr. Werner was molder at the Radiator plant for many years, retiring 10 years ago.
He is survived by four children: Daniel J. Werner of Mt. Olive: Mrs. Emma Jones, Lansing, Mich.: Miss Minnie Werner and Mrs. Nellie Angle of Litchfield. A daughter, Malinda Elizabeth died in 1895.
The body lies at the Carroll and Son funeral Home to await funeral Arrangements.
