Alma Ruth Altom, 80, Broken Bow, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at St. Michael Hospital in Texarkana, TX. She was born September 20, 1926 at Perry, OK, the daughter of Marie and Ira Strotman.
She was the beloved wife of David A. Altom, decorated WWII veteran. They just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on March 5. Alma was an active member in the First United Methodist Church as children's Sunday School Teacher and choir member for 50 plus years.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Anita Embry and Junia Trowbridge.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband David A. Altom, Broken Bow; one son, Dennis Keith Altom and daughter-in-law Mollie Lou, and one grandson, Dustin Keith all of The Woodlands, TX. She is also survived by her loving nephews Rex Jones, Ray Trowbridge, Dick Embry and nieces Marie Bray, Ann Muir, Gail Foster, and Sue Embry and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 2, 2007 at First United Methodist Church, Broken Bow, with Rev. Margo Vestal officiating.
Alma will be buried at Memorial Park Cemetery in Oklahoma City with her parents Marie and Ira Strotman.
Visitation will be Sunday April 1, from 1- 6 p.m. at Brumley Funeral Home, Broken Bow.
