He married (1) MARY MAHALA "MOLLIE" MCELWAIN September 14, 1882 in Laclede Co., Missouri1260,1261, daughter of DAVID MCELWAIN and SARA COLLIER. She was born May 19, 1865 in Springfield, Sangamon Co., Illinois, and died October 24, 1894 in Burton, Harvey Co., Kansas. He married (2) LILLIE ANN MCHENRY September 12, 1900 in Duncan, Stevens Co., Oklahoma, daughter of JOHN MCHENRY and ELIZABETH HEADRICK. She was born September 29, 1869 in Indiana, and died April 7, 1949 in Lamesa, Dawson Co., Texas.



Lewis Randolph Bohannon was born August 1, 1860 in Joplin, Jasper County, Missouri. He was the third child of Enoch and Julia Ann Shirley Bohannon and one of eight children.
Lewis Randolph was first married to Mary (Molly May) McElwain. She was born May 19, 1865 in Springfield, Sagamon County, Illinois. The couple was married in Laclede County, Missouri on Septe 14, 1882. After their marriage, they oved to Weir City, Cherokee County, Kansas. Each of their children was born there, except the second child, Benjamin Franklin Bohannon. He was born in Burrton, Harvey County, Kansas. Their children, in order of birth, were as follows: Daisy Ethel Bohannon, Benjamin Franklin Bohannon, Laura Bohannon, William Milton Bohannon, and Mary Bohannon. Lewis Randolph and Molly May were married twelve years before her death on October 24, 1894 in Burrton, Harvey County, Kansas.
Lillian Ann McHenry, the second wife of L.R. Bohannon, was born September 29, 1869 in Indiana. Her parents were John M. McHenry and Elizabeth Ann Headrick. She was one of seven children. The name of one daughter is unknown, but Laura is a possibility. The other dauthers were Elizabeth (Lizzie), Lilian Ann, Minnie, Emma, and two sons, William and John E. (Bud). The two boys were both born in Goldthwaite, Mills County, TX.
Lillie Ann McHenry was first married to Lewis Daugherty. Their three children were Scot, Addie, and Dan, and they were born in Texas.
Lewis Randolph remained a widower six years and Lillie Ann a widow five years before they married September 12, 1900. Lillie Ann always referred to her husband as "Mr. Bohannon." During the next thirteen years of their marriage, four children were botn to them in Stephens County, OK. These children were Ora Bell, Homer, Amos, and Edna. L.R. was a stock farmer.
Upon leaving Oklahoma in 1925, Lewis Randolph and Lillie Ann journeyed to New Mexico where they homesteaded. In Edna's Bible there is written that it was presnet to L.R. Bohannon in 1920. This was noted five years later at Wellington, Texas in 1925, a possible stop on the way to New Mexico.
They moved to Lamesa in 1928 or 1929 and farmed northeast of what is now the Union community. Preceding Lewis Randolph's death, they rented a part of a house from Bob Lindsey on a five to eight acre tract just off the Seminole highway. This place was three blocks north of the Sealy Grocery Store at what is now Avenue N and North 5th. It was close to the small now vacant triangle of land and this was the west edge of town. Lewis Randolph helped Mr. Lindsey raise chickens.
Lewis Randolph Bohannon died December 4, 1937 in Lamesa, and was buried in the Lamesa Cemetery.
After the death of Lewis Randolph, Lillie Ann made her home primarily with her daughters, Ora Rinewalt. She made extended visits to her other daughters, Edna Bohannon Wilson and Addie Daugherty. She had been with Edna a period of two months when she passed away April 7, 1949. She, also was buried in the Lamesa Cemetery. Lillie Ann survivedher husband by twelve years.
