S/O HENRY HILEMAN AND
HETTY ESTHER BOUSLOUGH.
H/O ELCINDA MARJORY MONTGOMERY AND
ELEANOR (ELLEN) BOUSLOUGH.

OBITURARY: Saturday, March 21, 1903
Dakota County Record, South Sioux City, Nebraska,

Dakota City: David Young Hileman died at his home southwest of town, last Sunday.
Mr. Hileman had been ill with pneumonia for some time and had conquered the disease, but the ordeal left him in such a weakened condition that his death soon followed the disease in a general breakdown.
Mr. Hileman was born in Pennsylvania in 1828 and came to Dakota county in March, 1867, when he purchased the farm on which he since resided.
Mr. Hileman leaves four children:
Woods M. Hileman, R.O. Hileman,
Mrs. Dennis Armour, and Mrs. Albert Heikes.
He was twice married,
his second wife dying about a year ago.
Mr. Hileman commanded the respect of all who knew him and he leaves a wide circle of friends who long will remember him for his kind deeds and words.
Funeral services were to have been held in the Salem Lutheran church Tuesday, but owing to the impassable condition of the country roads it was out of the question to reach the church.
Short services were held at the house and
from there the remains were taken directly to the Taylor cemetery for interment.
It was impossible for the hearse to travel over roads so the casket was transferred to a light spring wagon.

Another entry in same newspaper states:
services...will be conducted by Rev. S. M. Lesher.
Mr. Hileman has been a member of the Salem church ever since it was organized and a member of the board of trustees up to two years ago.
He was 74 years, 8 months, and 10 days old at the time of his death.
