SMITH, Rose I. (Age 93) was born in Walla Walla, WA, in 1927. She died peacefully on January 5th, 2021, at Holy Family Hospital at the age of 93. She met Gail on a blind date in 1948 and they were married six months later. Together they had five children, 14 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. Gramma Rose was a devoted wife to her husband, Gail. She had a special place in her heart for her grand children and greatly loved all her family. She hosted family dinners every Sunday for years and you could be sure you were on her list if you didn't show up! Her passion was playing Bingo. It was quite an adjustment for her when she could no longer drive to catch the bus to Worley. Her other loves for many years were sewing, cooking, crocheting and her love for animals. We will miss her very much as she was a matriarch of the family. It is comforting to know that she is with her beloved husband, family and friends now.

She was preceded in death by, Gail Smith, her husband of 65 years.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Due to an error, the original date of Friday January 8th, 2021 was missed. The funeral plans for Rose Smith were scheduled as follows: Friday, January 8th: Viewing at Hazen & Jaeger Funeral Home located at 1306 N. Pines, 99206, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Rosary at St. John Vianney's, located at 503 N. Walnut, 99206 at 6:00 PM. Saturday, January 9th: Funeral Mass at 11:30 at St. John Vianney's followed by burial service at North Pines Cemetery at 1:00.
