Donna Rae Davenport Netters, the daughter of Ray and Evelyn Davenport was born the 18th of November 1935 at Grace Hospital on Hutchinson, KS. She passed away November 30, 2020 in Oklahoma City, OK. She will be buried at Sunny Lane Cemetery on December 4th. 2020. Donna grew up in Inman, Kansas, a small rural town. She married Robert L. Schroeder in 1953 and was blessed with two children, Patricia Lee and Robert Gale. She worked at various clerical jobs in Hutchinson, Kansas. When on her own, Donna and her daughter moved to Moore, OK in 1969. Donna became involved in square dancing again, where she met the love of her life, Paul Netters. They were married the 18th of August, 1973 in Moore, OK at the New Life Methodist Church. One of their favorite activities was to travel in their RV and later a 5th wheel. They traveled with their lifelong friends, Charlie, Lois Dye, Kate, and RC Staggs. They loved to play golf, square dance together and traveled all over to attend these events. Most of their travels took them West and Donna and Paul made trips to Oregon to visit Paul’s son and his family. Also North to Kansas to visit Donna’s family. Donna became involved in genealogy and loved the research and stories uncovered. She joined the Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames and various other lineage organizations. She was very proud to be a descendent of the Mayflower and presented a very interesting program on her Mayflower descendants. Donna was a past Regent of the Ardmore DAR Chapter and a founding member of the Chisolm Fork Chapter. She excelled in genealogy and had roomfuls of books on family lineage she had done. She was very proud of her volunteer work for DAR and won numerous awards. Last year she even completed online classes for DAR and genealogy. Donna worked long and hard on her family tree and loved to Find A Grave website and keeping her family’s history up to date. While living in Sulphur, OK, Paul and Donna were members of the United Methodist Church. They were very active with the church and helped out almost every day with building the new church. In her spare time, she read books, put puzzles together, cross-stitches, crochet, and watched her sports! She found out you could read books on her new Kindle, she was so happy you could buy books with a click. She really loved playing games and rarely missed playing her dailies. She cross-stitches pictures for her family and had them framed beautifully. Her biggest achievement was a Hummel bedspread for her mother. Along with the cross-stitching, she crochet scarfs, hats, and Afghans. All great-grandkids received their own special afghan from her. She crocheted Christmas snowflakes and cross-stitched ornaments for family also. Donna would crochet caps for babies in hospitals. She was fond of making caps for the preemie babies. Donna would never pass up a puzzle. She ordered puzzles constantly and would borrow them from her assisted living. Donna was a loyal Thunder fan. She had a dream come true when her granddaughter and her husband took her to a Thunder game. She floated on air for weeks! Donna binge watched Hallmark movies too. She kept a move checklist by her chair so she could check off the Christmas movies she watched. After moving to Meadowlakes Assisted Living, she became best friends with Euda, Floyedene, and Joyce. They sat together every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They were as the “four teenagers”. Their weekly Spinner domino game was a must followed by snacks. They also started attending the bingo games and would compete on who could win the most snacks. She was a past President of the Resident’s Council and would attend the monthly “food meetings”. The employees treated her like family and were very caring towards her. Dona liked playing games with great granddaughters, Emery and Lillian. She was the first person to get Lillian to try orange sherbet ice cream. Last but not least, there were the fur babies; Lolli, Little Bit, Bentley, Jett, and her special friend Jo-Jo. One of her last requests was that the puppy treats be divided up between them. Donna was proceeded in death by her husband, Paul Leroy Netters. She is survived by daughter Pat Jenkins, OKC, son Mike and wife, Rose Schroeder of Haven, KS, and stepson, Paul Netters Jr. and his wife Susan of Rogue River, Oregon.
