Phyllis Rae Strong Louderback, 83, of South Bend, passed away peacefully in her home May 26, 2007, into God's loving arms with her family at her side. Phyllis was born February 26, 1924, in Star City, IN, to the late Clarence and Avanga Buck Strong. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Dorotha Waidner; and brothers, Warren Strong and Clarence Strong Jr. On July 6, 1940, in South Bend, she married Eugene W. Louderback, who died in 1995. She is survived by her children and grand children and her brother Raymond.
Phyllis was an avid sewer and loved to crochet. She made things throughout her lifetime for her children and grandchildren whom she dearly loved. She worked many years as a clerk/bookkeeper at Greenwoods Supermarket in South Bend and Oak Grove Market in Mishawaka. She was a member of The Daughters of the American Revolution, and spent many hours tracing her family tree with her sister Dorotha.
Her main priority was her family, and in her later years, she spend much of her time caring for
and nurturing her great-granddaughter. Funeral Services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2007 in Weisheimer Family Funeral Home. Entombment will be in Highland Cemetery.
