Marianne M. Pekulik

Manitowoc - Marianne M. Pekulik (Wilda), 88, of Manitowoc, WI passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. She was born on August 4, 1932 to the late Ben and Mary (Seidl) Kohlmeyer.

Her first job was working for the telephone company (later known as AT&T) in Manitowoc. She went on to work for the family business, Kohlmeyer's Restaurant for over 45 years.

On October 28, 1958 Marianne married Keith Wilda at Holy Innocents Catholic Church in Manitowoc. They spent 17 years together before he preceded her in death on June 23, 1976. Together they raised two children: Susan and Scott.

Marianne went on to remarry Ralph Pekulik on January 16, 1988. He preceded her in death on November 19, 2011.

She was a member of St. Francis of Assissi Catholic Church in Manitowoc.

Marianne had a big heart for animals. She had many pets during her lifetime and took joy in giving them love, care and attention.

She enjoyed spending her summers at their Door County cottage with her family and friends. Marianne liked to go out to different restaurants to eat, but she especially liked her Kingsbury beer.

Marianne is survived by her two children: Sue Wilda and Scott Wilda; special family friend Steve Johnson; brother-in-law Tom Wilda; close friend Marion Daley and her cat Teddy. Along with her parents and previous husbands, she is preceded in death by Keith's parents: Chester "Teddy" and Lucille Wilda.

Due to the current circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, a private burial service will be held by Marianne's family. To leave an online condolence for the family, please visit www.NewcomerGreenBay.com.

A special thank you to the Opichka's, for being good neighbors and helping out when needed. Also, a special thanks to Marianne's daughter Sue who lovingly provided extraordinary in-home, around-the-clock care for her especially during her time of greatest need; her son Scott was honored to look after and care for her for many years.

In lieu of flowers, any memorials may be directed to the family.

Marianne's previous marriages were to US Veterans. She took great pride in what veterans gave to our country in the name of freedom and democracy. The events that took place in our nation's Capitol on January 6, 2021, the same day of her passing, would have saddened her deeply.
