Henry Everts, one of the well and favorably known elderly residents of Dixon, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Willis Spiller, at 6 o'clock this morning after an illness of several days. Death was due to the infirmities of old age.
He was born at Newark, N.Y., 83 years ago last March. He was married in the east and came to Dixon with his wife in 1866. She died several years ago.
The deceased is survived by two children, Archibald, residing at Manhatten, Cal., and Mrs. Willis Spiller of this city. He also leaves three brothers, John, residing in Missouri, and Charles and A. Everts, at Marshalltown, Ia. He was a member of the Baptist church for 45 years.
The funeral services will be held at the home of his daughter on West Ninth street at 2 p.m. Monday and at 2:30 at the Baptist church, Rev. A.A. Mainwaring officiating. Interment will be made in Oakwood cemetery. (Dixon Evening Telegraph, Dixon, IL., Sat., Oct. 16, 1909, pg 1)
