Robin Kay Henningsen, the daughter of Charles Eugene and Judith Kay (Brown) Hansen, was born December 23, 1963, in Council Bluffs, IA. Robin died January 8, 2021, at the Bergan Mercy Hospital in Omaha, NE, at the age of 57 years and 16 days.
Robin attended school in Walnut, graduating from Walnut High School with the class of 1982. She worked for Mutual of Omaha and then several other jobs before taking a job with Markham Family Dental in Harlan. Several years ago, she began working for Harlan Dental. Robin lived in Walnut her whole life.
Robin loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Peace United Church of Christ in Walnut. She enjoyed riding the motorcycle with Breck and taking trips to Sturgis, Wyoming, Montana, and anywhere else that they could go. Robin was loving, caring, and enjoyed taking care of others.
Robin is preceded in death by her mother-in-law Rita Henningsen, and her grandparents.
Robin is survived by her husband Breck of Walnut, IA; her sons: Dustin Nelsen and wife Lesley of Avoca, IA, Dakota Nelsen and wife Felicia of Walnut, IA, and Dane Nelsen and wife Beth of Minden, IA; her grandchildren: Harvey, Henry, Ryker, Rowan, Bo, and Jaci; her parents, Charles and Judith Brown of Walnut, IA; her brothers, Jeff Hansen of Walnut, IA, and Cory Hansen and wife Christy of Stuart, IA; her sister Tami Edge of Harlan, IA; her father-in-law Daryl Henningsen of Oakland, IA; her brother-in-law Kirk Henningsen of Griswold, IA; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A private family memorial service will be held at the Peace United Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Layton Township Cemetery. The memorial service may be watched on the Rieken Vieth Funeral Home Facebook Page on Thursday, January 14, 2021, at 10:30 AM. An open visitation will be held at the Peace United Church of Christ on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from noon until 6:00 PM. The family will not be present at any specific time. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Walnut Fire and Rescue or your local animal shelter. Rieken Vieth Funeral Home in Oakland is in charge of arrangements.
