Charles Raymond Amato, 64, of Brookport went home to be with his Lord and Savior at 11:39 a.m., Monday, January 4, 2021 at Baptist Health Hospital in Paducah.

Charles was born August 18, 1956 in New York City to Mario and Jacqueline (Breacher) Amato. He spent many great years with the love of his life, Darlene Marie Troutt.

Charles was a retired truck driver for Royal Crown Cola. He spent his retirement enjoying time with his family and grandchildren. He attended Northside Church of God in Paducah. Charles spent his life giving to others. He would volunteer during the holidays to serve at Martha's Vinyard and would help a neighbor or friend anytime. Meeting new people was easy for him, he never met a stranger and never forgot a name.

Charles was a huge UK basketball fan. He loved playing cornhole and playing checkers and cards with his grandchildren. He spent many evenings at the ballpark and gymnasiums cheering on his grandchildren at their sporting events. He also looked forward to taking a vacation with his family every year and made sure to get to Tootsie's Restaurant for their $5 dollar oysters.

Charles is survived by his girlfriend, Darlene Troutt of Brookport; step-children, Jeremey (Cecilia) Beggs of Kevil, KY., Shaun (Ashley) Beggs of Graves Co., KY., & Lauren Troutt of Brookport; grandchildren, Caleigh, Gabriel, Christian & Landon Beggs, Raiyne & Braisyn Troutt.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday January 8, 2021 at Otterbein Cemetery in Pope County with Pastor Jeremy Beggs officiating.

Pyle Funeral Home in Johnston City is entrusted with the arrangements.
