Princeville Resident Dies After Attaining Age of Nearly 82 Years

Illness of Several Weeks Comes to Close Monday Morning—A Pioneer
Alfred Stewart Wilson was the youngest child of Aaron and Esther Wilson. He was born October 25, 1834 in Russellville, Brown County, Ohio, October 23, 1848 he arrived with his parents in Illinois and lived with them southwest of Princeville. His parents both died within six years of their coming here. Mr. Wilson was a farmer all his life until he removed to the village of Princeville when he followed the trade of carpenter for a time. It was about 12 years ago that he moved to town.
On November 4, 1858 he was married to Dorothy Young who for almost 50 years presided over his home. His death took place February 25, 1908. Six children were born to them, two of whom died in infancy.
Mr. Wilson lived in this vicinity for 68 years. He was a very active member of the Old Settler's Union.
Death came at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Lizzie M. Christian Tuesday morning October 24th. If he had lived another day he would have been 82 years of age.
He is survived by the following relatives: Four children, Frank E. Wilson of Peoria, Ill; Edward Wilson of Akron township, Peoria County, ill., Mrs. Lizzie M. Christian of Princeville and Mrs. Clara E. Kinnah also of Princeville, Ill.; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; one brother, Milton Wilson, of Princeville.
The funeral service is being held this afternoon (Thursday) at the Methodist Church and is being conducted by Rev. Stanley Ward.
