MRS. CHARLES SENTZ DIES VERY SUDDENLY
Mrs. Charles E. Sentz of Princeville before her marriage Elzada V. Slane, daughter of the late John Z. and Mary P. Slane, died Tuesday morning at the Methodist hospital in Peoria.
Her sudden death came as a great shock to the Princeville community and to the many people throughout this section of the country who knew Mrs. Sentz. Funeral services were held at the family residence in Princeville at 2:30 o'clock this afternoon, Rev. A. B. Ryan in charge. Burial was in the Princeville cemetery.
Elzada V. Slane was born near Princeville, September 23, 1875 and dies at 8:45 a m. Tuesday. She was 53 years, 8 months and 11 days of age at the time of her death.
She received her education in the rural school, the Princeville Academy and the South Side Wyoming high school, graduating from this institution with the class of 1894. She also attended Rockford College for one year but at the end of that time was called home by the illness of he mother.
She united with the local Presbyterian church in May, 1906 and was one of the most loyal workers that it has ever had.
On September 4, 1907, she was united in marriage to Charles E. Sentz. To this union were born three children, two daughters and a son. One daughter and the son died in infancy.
She resided at the old Slane homestead until August, 1923, when she moved to her present home in Princeville.
She was an active and loyal member of the church through the years, also an active member of the G. A. R., Parents Teachers, and a staunch supporter of any worthwhile community project.
She was a devoted mother and a loyal wife, deeming no sacrifice too great in the looking after of her household.
She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, Charles E. Sentz, a daughter, Laura Catherine, a niece, Elza Mary Slane, whom she reared from infancy, a brother Wilbur and a host of relatives and friends.
