She was raised in Biloxi MS and then her family moved to Montgomery AL during WWII, she was married there, raised children there and resided there until 2005, when she moved to Carrabelle, FL to live with her oldest son, David. She had an older brother, John Burt Benson, Jr. (Manatee County, FL) and a younger sist er, Mary Lou Benson (Manatee Count y, FL).
She was a graduate of Lanier High School, she attended Huntington College in Montgomery. After her marriage (August 5, 1949) she settled in Robinson Springs, Elmore County, AL. She married Joseph Edward Myrick, Jr. (b. April 13, 1926 d. October 24, 1963) from Autauga County, AL {his parents Joseph Edward Myrick, Sr. and Louise (Chunn - nee) Myrick. She was widowed at 37 in 1963 she never remarried. She cared for her own mother in Montgomery until she passed on May 18, 1982. She raised her five children and made her life with all the duty and dedication any person could achieve. She was gent eel, honest and devoted to her family. Her flaws small and her commitment to her family was great. She never sought attention, raised her family to respect all people and was a person who chose privacy.
