Beloved husband, father, grand-father and great-grandfather passed away peacefully on September 22, 2010. He was born to Charles and Maria Ahrenius on May 17, 1915 in Seattle and lived his first eighty years in West Seattle. He then relocated to Issaquah, Washington. He is survived by his beloved Evelyn, they shared thirty-nine wonderful years, and their blended family, Lois (Hugh) Hoff, Dennis (Judie) Ahrenius, John (Jan) Ahrenius, Audrey (Jon) Tharp, Judy (Alan) Russell, a brother Charles (Joan) Ahrenius, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his three sisters Florence Ahrenius, Edith Muth, Mildred Rhind, and sister-in-law Rachel H. Ahrenius. He was a lifetime member of Union Pacific Engineers, the West Seattle Promenaders Club, and an alumnus of West Seattle High School Class of 1934. Memorial at Sammamish Presbyterian Church, 22522 NE Inglewood Hill Road, Sammamish, WA 98074 on October 8, 2010. Memorial donations to Seattle Milk Fund. We will miss his courtly manners, subtle sense of humor, devotion to family, and curiosity to learn about everything.
