JoAnn Broome, age 84, went to be with the Lord at 3:50, Tuesday afternoon, January 5th 2021. Affectionately known as "Mimi", loving and caring for her family and friends was her greatest joy.

She was born in Monroe NC, the daughter of the late Joe and Edith Witmore. She was also preceded in death by her husband , Bob Broome, two brothers, Larry Witmore and Jan Witmore.

She is survived by a son, Bobby Broome Jr (Julie) and daughter, Sandy Bell(Robby), six grandchildren, Emily Watson (Chris), Taylor Bell (Kiersten), Maggie Rhodes (Brad), Logan Bell(Sara), Kathryn Thomas (Ruddy), Joanna Cross (Tyler), ten great-grandchildren Jett and Bella Rolewicz, Haines, Deacon and Braxton Rhodes, Oliver Cross, Tanner Bell, Gunner Bell, Blakely Gray Watson and Fin Thomas. JoAnn is also survived by three brothers, Gerry Witmore(Nyla), Ron Witmore, Harry Witmore(Linda) and a sister Beverly Helms (Larry) along with many nieces and nephews.

JoAnn was a member of Carmel Baptist Church and previously a long time member of Sharon Forest Baptist Church.

She will be missed greatly by her family and friends and all who knew her. A private graveside ceremony will be held at Forest Lawn East on Saturday, January 9, 2021. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Funeral Services.

We would like to thank Melanie of Hospice & Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, for her loving care during moms illness and Tonya and many other nurses and care givers at Willowbrook Court, Matthews Glen (previously Plantation Estates).
