All were present at his bedside, when his spirit fled to the great beyond except his brother,John E. Alger of Des Arc,Arkansas.
About 15 years ago he was converted, and at the time of his death, was a faithful member of the United Brethren church. In the death of brother Alger, the church and Sunday school have lost one of their most helpful members,
and the entire community has lost a man that will be most keenly missed. God has taken him from us,but his memory will live for years to come. His influence was always for good, and he was ever ready to help his fellow man.His friends were numbered by his acquaintances for to know him was to be his friend. He is gone and we feel that our loss is his gain, and some day the mist will be cleared away, and we will meet him in that beautiful city of gold.
Funeral services were held Monday,October 21 at Morelock church by Rev. Mr. Tobias, and interment was made in Morelock cemetery.
