Barbara (Bobbie) Jean Chandler Turley, 88, of Morristown, passed away peacefully on January 1st, 2021. She was a past Matron of Morristown Chapter 486 Order Easter Star, past President of the Morristown Pilot Club, Past Den Mother for the Boy Scouts of America, Member of the Morristown High Alumni Group, Co-Owner of Turley’s Upholstery Manufacturing Company, retired from Park Belk, and loved sports.
Bobbie was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Morristown. She was a loving wife to Charles Carroll Turley for over 50 years, mother of Jeanne Carroll Turley of Greenville, SC, and Michael Charles Turley of Morristown. Bobbie was a champion for anyone in need. She enjoyed ballroom dancing and countless summers camping at Cherokee Park and Gatlinburg, gardening, shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Bobbie was born in Witt Community on December 18th, 1932, to Mrs. Grace May Reagan Chandler and James Franklin Chandler. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles Carroll Turley, parents and siblings Arleen Chandler Corbett, Maxine Chandler Hartman, Ronald Chandler, John Chandler, and Donald Chandler.
She is survived by her children Jeanne Carroll Turley and Michael Charles Turley (Audrey); grandchildren Michael Greg Turley (Tiffany), Krista Bryan (Kyle), Charles Wayne Turley, Christopher Matthew Turley, Frank C. Pease, and Heather Lynn Pease; great grandmother of Katelin Stull, Jacob Sparks, Maddox Turley, Andrew Bryan, and Ryder Turley; sisters Anne Grace Chandler Fine of Livermore California, Linda Jo Chandler Engle of Sonora California, Shelia Chandler Pereira of Manteca California, brothers Thomas Franklin Chandler and Richard James Chandler Morristown Tennessee, and several nieces and nephews.
She was a strong, kind and loving matriarch and business woman with a creative determined spirit that has served her well throughout her life and illness. Her family learned determination, work ethic and problem solving. She will be greatly missed by all.
Family and Friends may pay their respects from 1 – 2 p.m. Saturday, Janiary 9th at Westside Chapel Funeral Home. A celebration of life service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Darris Doyle officiating. Interment will follow at Hamblen Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Morristown Chapter of Eastern Star or your choice of youth sports. Arrangements by Westside Chapel Funeral Home in Morristown.
