Son of Ira Kilbourn Westbrook and Amelia Nate. Married first Grace Shepherd April 06, 1899 and had a son Jesse Vian. She was always in frail health and died shortly after the birth. He married second Cora Ella Budde June 25, 1902 and had Elva, Althea, and Edward. He was a teacher of manual arts and had a small farm. He later served for many years as a member and as the president of the local school board. Westbrook School in Glenview is named for him.

Memorial services for Jesse Westbrook, 85, of 1551 Waukegan rd., Glenview, retired president of the Glenview school board, will be held at 3 p.m. tomorrow in the Glenview Community church, of which he was a charter member. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today in the chapel at 1104 Waukegan rd., Glenview. He died Tuesday in his home. Mr. Westbrook, who taught in the Glenview public schools for many years, became a member of the community's school board in 1930. He was a member until 1936 and was president from then until 1942. Surviving are the widow, Cora E., two sons, Vian and Edward G., and two daughters, Mrs. Elva M. Edwards and Mrs. Althea L. Bradshaw.
