He was a World War II Army Veteran, a retired chemist for the Olin Corporation, and a member of the Mount Washington United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; along with his siblings, Raymond, Arnold, Elva, Evelyn, and Gene.
He is survived by his children, Rick (Sharon) and Rene' DeJarnett; a brother, Lindell DeJarnett; three grandsons, Charles, Andrew, and Philip; along with seven great-grandchildren.
Cremation was chosen. A private memorial service will be held by the family and he will be buried alongside his wife in Illinois.
