Jessie “Dub” Drennin of Bradford, Arkansas, departed this life on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at the age of 80. He was born February 6, 1940 in Sulphur Rock, Arkansas, the son of Erin Dow Drennin and Helen Theo Barker Drennin.
Mr. Drennin was a United States Army veteran, serving his country for three years, stationed in Germany. He worked for Fluor Daniels and had been on the construction crew in helping build Eastman and NASA. He was an inventor and loved building things. He was ornery and had a dry sense of humor. He was of the Baptist belief. His greatest love was his family.
Mr. Drennin was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Joe Drennin; and one sister, Minnie Beck.
He is survived by his daughters, Penny Sitzer and husband, Eddie, of Cash, Stacie Sullivan and husband, Stacey, of Tuckerman, and Kristie Haigwood and husband, Shawn, of Batesville; one brother, J.R. Drennin of Tuckerman; two sisters, Maxine Sneed of Judsonia and Maude Roberts of Newport; eight grandchildren, Stephen McCullar and wife, Crystal, Courtney Smith, Colt Sitzer and wife, Sarah, Autumn Bennett and husband, Bryce, Jordan Sullivan, Sonny Sullivan, Hayden Haigwood and wife, Kati, and Riley Haigwood; great grandchildren, Faith, Addison, Cambrin, Spencer, Alvia, Abigail, Shelby, Bellamy, Jameson, Sullivan, Rayleigh, and Liam; and a lifetime of friends.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home. Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
