Rozell "Pete" Taliaferro passed away on Sunday, December 6, 2020 following a short illness. He attended Roosevelt High School Class of '49. He was a retiree of US Steel-Sheet and Tin Mill, Gary Works. Rozell is preceded in death by the love of his life, June Taliaferro; parents Robert and Virnater Taliaferro; grandson George Rogers III; grandson-in-law Oscar Wade; brothers James, George and Claude Taliaferro; sister Ernestine Clayton. He is survived by his devoted and loving daughters Arlene Robinson and Paula Rogers; grandchildren Julie Taliaferro, Shawn (Tawana) and Stacy Rogers; 8 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Barbara Taliaferro and Viola Taliaferro; granddaughter-in-law LaTanya Rogers and special cousin Jeanette Davis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A Graveside Service will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m., Evergreen Memorial Park, 3815 West 39th Ave., Hobart, IN.
