Son of Robert T. Dismore (1830-1900) and Melinda Waterson (1872-1910). Both of his biological parents had died before 1910 (memorial for Melinda not available as of 1 Jan 2021), and he was adopted by Frank E Vickory (1855–1941) and Elizabeth Griffith (1856–1926) .

Married at least twice: Matilda Frances Houghtaling 'Bardin' (1894-1986) in 1929;
and Dora M Clairmont (1905-1941) in 1937.
