Emma M. Husa, 94, Beatrice, died Saturday (11/24/07) at Beatrice Manor. Born November 19, 1913 at rural Odell, Neb. and graduated from Odell High School. She taught school in the Odell area until she married Arnest Husa on June 10, 1936 at the Presbyterian Church in Barneston. They lived and farmed in the Barneston area until moving to Beatrice in 1970. She worked for the Formfit Company for over 20 years until her retirement in 1979. She was a member of the Holmesville Church of the Brethren and did many volunteer projects for them. She worked as a volunteer for the Beatrice Community Hospital Gift Shop, the bloodmobile, and also worked at McDonald's. She enjoyed making quilts, baking, and cooking.
Survivors include one daughter, Loreene Lane and her husband, Larry, Omaha; one son, Bernie Husa and his wife, Joan, Lincoln; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Frances Fleshliber Peters; her husband, Arnest, who died on March 10, 2006; one brother, Rudolph Peters; and three sisters, Agnes Prebyl; Helen Goin; and Betty Colgrove.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday (11/28/07) at Fox Funeral Home of Beatrice with Pastor John Snyder officiating. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday (11/28/07) at Lincoln Memorial Park. The body will lie in state at Fox Funeral Home from 9 a.m. Monday (11/26/07) until the time of service Wednesday. Fox Funeral Home, Beatrice, is in charge of arrangements.
