Mrs. Lester (Minnie Berry) Alvis Sr., 80, of 4608 Sherbrook Drive, died July 19, 1987, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Columb's Episcopal Church with burial in Lakewood Cemetery. Wright and Feguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Alvis, a native and lifelong resident of Jackson, was a member of St. Columb's Episcopal Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Harold (Ann) Holbrook of Jackson; sons, Lester Alvis Jr. and James H. Alvis, both of Jackson; sisters, Mrs. W.H. (Frances) Harrison and Mrs. J.H. (Ethel) Burns, both of Jackson; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
