Marvin Abbey, Jr. 54 of Herrin passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 26, 1962 in Carmi, the son of Joe Marvin Abbey, Sr. and Freda (Trout) Abbey.

Marvin married his best friend Renee' Abbey on October 15, 2009.

He worked at C & C Pumps of Marion since 2013. Marvin enjoyed the fast paced environment of the pumping business. Marvin also appreciated the close friendship he had with his boss Chris Szebleski who made it a great place to work.

He was a life member 32nd degree Mason, life member of the Shriners and a Scottish Rite member but his passion was with the Herrin Elks #1146. He loved being able to work side by side with his brothers and making a difference in other people's lives.

Marvin loved his family and friends. He enjoyed the special times they spent together. The many memories they created will now be cherished by those he leaves behind.

He is survived by his wife, Renee' Abbey, his parents, Joe Marvin Abbey, Sr. and Freda Abbey, two sisters, Rita Matz of Florida and Mabel Hawkins of Grayville, stepson, Jason Abbott, stepdaughter Heather Abbott, six grandchildren, four nephews and two nieces, one son Joe Abbey, III and one daughter Laura Abbey.

He is preceded in death by two brothers in law, John Matz and Vic Hawkins.
