Millard B. "M.B." Styer, 82, of Wintersville, Ohio died Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Valley Hospice Palliative Care Unit. He was born in Canton, OH on September 26, 1923 a son of the late Charles and Ethel Westerh Styer. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, St. Benedicts Church in Canton, OH, Louisville American Legion Post 348, Disabled American Vets, Eagles Lodge of Louisville, 1st and 4th Marine Division Associations, and Steubenville Gun and Pistol Club. He retired as a grinder from the Timkin Co and was a WWII veteran of the Marines that served seven campaigns from Guadal Canal to Iwo Jima. Preceding him in death were his 1st wife Vicki Harter Styer; brothers George and Phillip Styer; and grandson Adam Crowley. Surviving are his wife Florence Shimko Styer; son Phillip (Heather) Styer; six daughters Linda (Glenn) Aiken, Sheila Fisk, Valerie Styer, Rebecca Jarrett, Michelle Hobbie, and Amy Ferguson; 23 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; half brother Richard Summers; sisters Lois (Donald) Hawkins, Mary (Roland) Davis, Janice (Robert) Hilgert, and Barbara (Goodwin) Johnson; three step children David (Laura) Shimko, Don (Debbie) Scott, and Andrew (Rebecca) Shimko; eight step grandchildren; and six step great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Thursday 6 - 9 p.m. where services will be held 11 a.m. Friday with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Additional services will be held Saturday at Paquelet-Falk Funeral Home, S. Chapel St., Louisville, OH (330) 875-2811. Burial at St. Louis Cemetery, Louisville, OH where full military honors will be performed. Memorials may be directed to Our Lady of Lourdes Choir.
