Darlene was born in Lincoln, NE, to Emil and Ana Harper Lund on March 19, 1933. She graduated from Alexander Hamilton High School, West LA, in 1951. In 1952, she met her husband John, cruising in Hollywood with her best friend of 64 years, Bettie. On May 23, 1953, John and Darlene were married. In 1964, they welcomed their daughter, Michelle, who she was extremely proud of.
In 1974, the family moved to Saugus. Darlene worked as a realtor at Day Realty and at Santa Clarita Bank as an Escrow Officer. In 1979 Darlene and John opened Escrow Emporium, Inc. They worked together until retiring in 1999. They enjoyed traveling together after their retirement. In 2001, Darlene became a realtor. She worked for Coldwell Banker, Remax, and Realty Executives. Darlene was active in the Soroptimist Women's Club for 35 years, serving as president 1983-84. She was on the board of directors for the Domestic Violence Center. She was a fan of football, the Dodgers, and NASCAR. She enjoyed playing bunco, golf, crocheting and computers. Most of all Darlene enjoyed her grandchildren.
Darlene was preceded in death by her older brother Darold Lund.
