Mrs. Benavidez was born in Altus on March 17, 1960, to Roy Theodore and Ethel Alma (Markham) Worthen while they lived in Hollis. After attending Hollis School, Kathy received her nurse"s aide training, in Altus, and worked for many years at Colonial Manor I and II, in Hollis and Grace Living Center, in Altus. A longtime care giver, Kathy loved caring for others and painting cow heads, but most of all she loved being with her children and caring for her grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents and two infant daughters, Alma Kay Martinez and Letisha Belinda Benavidez, she is survived by three sons, Kevin Benavidez and wife Vanessa of Altus, Dusty Benavidez and wife Veyanita of Shiner, Texas and Valentine Benavidez IV and wife Crystal of Altus; twelve grandchildren, Mercedes, Criztan, Jada, Cindra, Sarai, Mi"Yana, Maritza, Eric, A.J., Jerimiah, Summer and Leticia; one brother, Monty Worthen and wife Tammy of Hollis along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Kathy (Worthen) Benavidez will be at 10 a.m., Monday, April 20, 2015, at Harmon County Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Carlisle officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery under the direction of Harmon County Funeral Home of Hollis.
