Raymond Newman McKinney, 87, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at Red Oak Memory Care in Canton. He was born on November 28, 1933 in Canton to Claude and Margaret (Williams) McKinney.
Raymond married Kay Derrickson on December 22, 1953 in Canton. She preceded him in death on November 15, 2016.
Surviving are his children, Dianna McKinney of Canton, Derrick (Lyn) McKinney of Peoria, IL., and Tammy (J.C.) Barnard of Canton; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Rebecca) Bender, Bret (Jannaya) Merna, T.J. Barnard, Wesley McKinney, Matthew (Cassie) McKinney and Nicholas McKinney; nine great grandchildren; and one sister, Ruth Smith of Moline.
Ray worked for 28 years for the City of Canton as Superintendent of the Water Department retiring in 1996. He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Canton and the Masonic Lodge. He also served in the U.S. Navy. He was mechanically inclined and always found a project to work on.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 11am at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. There will be no visitation. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the 1st Baptist Church.
