Anne Lee Montoya, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 in Socorro, NM.
Anne Lee was born to Eufracio Padilla and Apolonia (Gonzáles) Padilla on November 18, 1926 in San Antonito, NM.
Anne Lee married the love of her life, Heraclio “Laco” Montoya, Jr. on June 17, 1946, who preceded her in death.
Anne Lee is survived by her son, John A. Montoya and his wife, Diana of San Antonio, NM, granddaughter, Melinda Montoya, great-granddaughter, Kayla Vanlandingham of Cortez, CO, granddaughter, Eva Montoya of Albuquerque, NM and grandson, Michael Montoya of Albuquerque, NM.
Anne Lee is also survived by her sisters and brothers, Delfina Reyes, Rosina Armijo, Tiburcio Padilla and his wife, Emma, Donald Padilla and his wife, Jennie, José Padilla and his wife, Renate, Eufracio Edward Padilla and his wife, Gloria and Clarence Padilla.
Anne Lee was the third oldest of thirteen children and was preceded in death by her parents, Eufracio and Apolonia, brother, Antonio Padilla and sisters, Nicanora Padilla, Lucia Chávez, Estella Muñoz, Joaquina C. Trujillo and Cecilia Woodward. Anne Lee was a spirited woman who lived during a time of little. Anne Lee was surrounded by a large and loving family, which gave her the capacity to give with a full heart.
Anne Lee married Laco and they had many adventures, traveled, frequented dance halls, caught many a fish, and she also had the greenest thumb in the neighborhood. Anne Lee found fulfillment in her son. John, who gave her three grandchildren and eventually a great-granddaughter, all of whom she loved unconditionally. Anne Lee loved to travel and her trips to town, but more than anything, she cherished her trip to Spain with her granddaughter, Eva and in her final years, rides with her grandson, Michael, to family gatherings around San Antonio, which brought her great joy.
Anne Lee enjoyed having morning coffee with her family, watching her hummingbirds and making sure that every cat in town had kibble. Her African Violets always bloomed and her chile was the best, as was everything that came out of her kitchen. Anne Lee always gave of herself, providing care for Uncle Juan, her brother-in-law, Joaquin and also her husband, Laco as their journeys here came to an end.
Anne Lee loved everyone and had a seat at her table for everyone, along with a meal and a story. Anne Lee was a kind woman who cherished beauty, loved to care for others, and created a legacy in her actions that have rippled through all those she has touched. Her family loves her very much.
