NEW CASTLE--Donald C. Archey, 72, 408 N. 17th St., died Saturday in Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie.
Mr. Archey was born in Muncie. He had worked at McGraw Paving and retired from Chrysler Corp. in 1978 after 30 years of employment. He retired from Ashland Oil Co. in 1991. He was a member of New Castle Lions Club for many years and belonged to the Esquire club and Bethel AME Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ethel; four daughters, Janis Smith (husband: Mike), Wada Sue Baker (husband: Larry), Lisa Archey and Cathy Jo Morgan (husband: James); a son, Dennis Archey (wife: Julie); a granddaughter he raised, Briana; four brothers, Richard, Stewart, Benjamin, and William Archey; a sister, Patsy Archey; 13 other grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sons and two brothers.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Bethel AME Church. Burial will be in South Mound Cemetery. Calling will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. today in Main & Frame Funeral Home and an hour before services at the church.
