James Dennis Perkins of Brentwood, completed his earthly journey on June 17, 2015.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Dewey and Mamie Lee Perkins.

Jim is survived by his wife, Gail; daughter and son-in law, Robin and Justin Petty of Union, KY; grandchildren, Ragon and Jake Petty, and sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Alan Krauss of Bristol, CT.

Jim grew up in Owensboro, KY where he began his lifelong passion for University of Kentucky sports and became an Eagle Scout. Jim graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College and upon graduation enlisted in the Army and served in Vietnam for 3 years. After leaving military service, he served as a district scout executive for a year before entering his career in the pharmaceutical industry. Jim retired after 30 years of service with Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals.

Jim and Gail joined Brentwood United Methodist Church in 1979 and through the years, Jim has served the church in many capacities.

To honor and celebrate his life, Bishop Robert Spain, Bishop Joe Pennel and Dr. Davis Chappell will conduct a service at 3 p.m. on Monday, June 22nd at the church. There will be a time of visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m., followed by a reception after the service.

Memorial contributions may be made to Brentwood United Methodist Church, 309 Franklin Rd., Brentwood, TN 37027 for Harvest Hands or CYMT (Center for Youth Ministry Training).
