Autopsy Set In Death
Of Braxton Co. Farmer

SUTTON — A widely-known Braxton County farmer and cattleman, Harry C. .Morrison, 65, was found dead in bed at his home near here early yesterday morning. An autopsy was to be performed this morning.

Marple Funeral Home attendants at Sutton said he had multiple bruises on his body and had been dead about a week when found by a neighbor, June Bright.

B. D. Marple, Braxton County sheriff quoted a physician that none of the marks on the body would account for Morrison's death.

Bright told officers he found the body after he decided to investigate when he noticed that no smoke was coming from Morrison's, chimney.

Sheriff Marple said an after dark investigation of the house failed to reveal the location of Morrison's billfold. However he added the search was not thorough and that Morison may have hidden it in the house.

The house was in a state of disorder but showed no signs of a struggle according to the sheriff.

Mr. Morison was a native of Lewis County and had lived most of his lifetime in Braxton County.

Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in High Knob Church near Sutton with the Rev. Charles Wyatt officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Marple Funeral Home.

Surviving are two sons, Carl and William, both of Clarksburg; two daughters, Mrs. Lennie Lemons of Bridgeport and Mrs. Pauline Hardy of Clarksburg; four sisters, Mrs. Winnie Pills and Mrs. Mary Sheets, both of Clarksburg, Mrs. Erma Johns of Cowen and Mrs. Minnie Gregory of Newville; and three grandchildren.

The body is at the funeral home.
