Union -- A telegram was received here this afternoon announcing the death at Rochester, Minnesota, of C.L. Rogers, one of the most prominent farmers in this vicinity. Mr. Rogers' death occurred at 10 o'clock this morning, following an operation for cancer of the rectum. His death was not unexpected, as the children had been summoned to Rochester by telegram soon after the operation was performed.
Mr. Rogers was widely known in southern Hardin and northern Marshall counties.
He is survived by a wife; three children, Dale, Beatrice, and Richard; three brothers, R.F., Everman, and Hallock Rogers of Union; and one sister, Mrs. Peckham of Oskaloosa.
The funeral arrangements will not be made until the members of the family arrive here with the body on Friday morning.
