Charles L. Coakley, 76, of 1926 Lenox Ave., died today at Beloit Memorial Hospital.
An area resident for over 50 years, he was born Oct. 5, 1895 in Rochester, Ind., the son of John and Julia Coakley. He married the former Nellie Carr on Nov. 15, 1923 in Rockford.
He was a retired Milwaukee Railroad conductor.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Charles J. of Beloit; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Hills of Beloit and Mrs. Walter Clark of Davenport, Iowa, and two sisters, Margaret and Mrs. Gertrude Houck, of Indiana.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Cranston Road Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Pingel officiating. Burial will be in Rockton Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the funeral home. Memorials may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
