Death has taken from our midst our loving mother, grandmother, neighbor, and friend, Hazel Pearl Ferrell Craddock.

She was born July 12, 1921, to the late Albert Winfred and Nancy Grace Ferrell, and left this life to be with Jesus March 27, 2002.

She was married to Ishmael Carl Craddock on Oct. 15, 1944, living with him until Jesus called her away. To this union were born four children: one son, Barry of Streetsboro, Ohio; three daughters, Leah Tackett of Currytuck, N.C., Sandra Cox of Lake, and Joan Epling of Hewett. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a host of friends who will miss her very much.

She was a wonderful mother and left the assurance that our loss was Heaven's gain. She was loved by all and always met you with a smile and you never left her house hungry. She was saved and baptized in 1957 and was a member of Stevens Chapel Methodist Church.

Jesus called and you answered, Hazel. It makes it awfully lonesome here, although we know you are happy there with Jesus. You always filled us with cheer. We loved you, yes, but Jesus loved you more. He has sweetly called you home to be with him, but we'll meet again on Heaven's shore.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2002, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Roger McCauley and Earl Akers officiating. Burial will follow in Baldwin Cemetery at Lake.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
