Born Sept. 9, 1919, at Meridian, Texas, to Ed and Clara Mae Gotcher Allen, he died Dec. 25, 1998, at Duncan. He was preceded in death by one son, Ronnie Allen; one sister, Eddie B. Remington; and two brothers, R.Q. and Woodrow.
Allen married Freda O. Thompson on Sept. 14, 1939, at Meridian. He worked for Salter Oil Company for 14 years and retired from Santa Fe Railroad in 1980. A veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Army, Allen was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
Survivors include his wife, of the home; three daughters, Brenda Bell, Davis, Jan Davis, Sulphur, and Pam Haskell, Terrell, Texas; two sons, Ricky, Duncan, and Randy, Davis; 17 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Bearers are Mike Haskell, Bobby Webb, Jim Davis, Jeffrey Allen, Jimmy Salter and Randy Moore. Honorary bearers are fellow masons.
Services are under the direction of Fox Funeral Home.
