Jessie Faye Hager, 83, of Six Mile died March 16, 2003, at Boone Memorial Hospital.
She was born March 22, 1919, the daughter of the late Linzia and Mayonna Elkins Chambers of Jeffrey, WV. She worked alongside her husband at their business Hager's General Merchandise for several years at Ottawa. She was a Christian and member of the Six Mile United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. James A. "Jaybird" Hager; daughter-in-law, Jan; great-granddaughter, Abbey Pendleberry; and sister Pearlie Gilliam.
She is survived by sons, James of Hurricane, Roger and his wife, Margaret of Six Mile; brother, Earl Chambers of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, at Six Mile United Methodist Church, Six Mile with Roger McCauley and Ralph Caudill officiating. Burial will follow in Boone Memorial Park, Madison.
