Garnet E. Greene, 82, of Danville, Boone County, W.Va., formerly of Sharples, W.Va., went home to be with the Lord, Friday, May 14, 2004.
Born Oct. 21, 1921, in Lincoln County, she was the daughter of the late John Henry and Oma Dotson Messer. Mrs. Greene was also preceded in death by her husband, Lowell Greene; son, Lionel Greene; sisters, Hettie Stollings, Lona Elkins, Verna Ferrell; brothers, Lilburn Messer, Dewey Messer, Jimmy Messer, Hilmer Messer; great-grandchild, Angela Lester.
Mrs. Greene was a homemaker and a Christian.
Survivors include her daughters, Linda Strealy of Orlando, Fla., Brenda Alonso of Orlando, Fla., Barbara Smith of Hewett, Robin "Susie" Greene of Danville; five grandchildren, Allen, Stephanie, Jeff, Ricky and Lea-Ann; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Jamison, Jocie, Justin, and Ronnie.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at the Stevens Funeral Home, Madison with Richard Craddock officiating. Burial will follow at Family Memorial Gardens, Madison.
