Calvin married Sylvia Guy in 1897. She was the mother of two daughters from a previous marriage, Euphemia and another whose name is not known at present. Calvin and Sylvia were the parents of three daughters: Susan Margaret (1 May 1899-15 April 1915), Ethel L. (29 Jul 1903-18 Jun 1904), and Gladys L. (22 May 1905-3 Aug 1907).
Sylvia (born 3 Apr 1876, a daughter of Herbert Guy and Rebecca Burgess Guy) died 10 May 1914. She is buried in the Berryhill Cemetery, Allen County, Ohio, beside her daughters Susan, Ethel and Gladys. Susan was brutally murdered by her boyfriend who was tried and convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.
Calvin, who worked for the railroad in Lima, Allen County, Ohio, later was a partner in a grocery store. He died on 7 Mar 1929.
Calvin's grave is located in Section K, Lot 1347 of the Woodlawn Cemetery, several miles from where his spouse Sylvia, and daughters Ethel, Gladys, and Susie are buried in the Berryhill Cemetery. There is (as of 2009) no headstone.
