Donald E. Bailey, Sr., 77, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, at River Oaks Hospital. Funeral services are 2:00pm today at McLaurin Heights Baptist Church in Pearl with burial in Floral Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Baldwin-Lee in Pearl in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Bailey was a member and life-time deacon of McLaurin Heights Baptist Church. A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he retired from the U.S. Soil Conservation Service.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Faye Bailey; sister, Robbie Joyce Bailey; and brother, Joe Bailey.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Carolyn Sharp Bailey of Pearl; sons, Don Bailey, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Pearl and Richard Bailey of Jackson; brother, Sammie Bailey of Holly Springs; sister, Jenice Bailey Clayton of Potts Camp; grandsons, Matthew and wife, Melissa, Adam and wife, Toni and Andrew and wife, Jinny; great-granddaughters, Morgan Claire and Mollie Kate; and numerous nieces and nephews.
