SIOUX CENTER, Iowa - Dena Van Riesen, 86, of Sioux Center died Sunday, March 12, 2000, at the Sioux Center Community Health Center.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Bethel Christian Reformed Church in Sioux Center, with the Rev. Robert Drenten officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Funeral Home in Sioux Center.

Mrs. Van Riesen was born June 5, 1913, near Sioux Center, the daughter of John and Jennie (Lammers) Addink. She attended country school.

She married Albert Van Riesen on November 13, 1935. They farmed around Sioux Center and Hills, Minnesota, for 30 years. They moved to Sioux Center.

She was employed with various jobs in Sioux Center, including as a cook for the schools and as a clerk for grocery stores.

Her husband died in 1998.

She was a member of Bethel Christian Reformed Church of Sioux Center and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and music.

Survivors include four sisters, Gertrude De Groot, Minnie Byl and Alice De Groot, all of Sioux Center, and Hattie and her husband, William Verdoorn of Hospers, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Dick and Hilda Addink of Sioux Center and Henry and Mary Addink of Orange City, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews.
