Elizabeth Eunice Edelen Ballard age 89, a resident of Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine for the last three years, died at 8:15 pm Sunday, December 13, 2020 at Sansbury Care Center. Born May 14, 1931 in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Robert and Mary Cleavie Wheatley Edelen, four brothers, James, Alton, Charles and Leo Edelen and three sisters, Isabel Oliver, Alice Spalding and Anna Laura Spalding.


She was a retired lunchroom worker at Washington County High School for 30 years, had worked as a volunteer at Medco Center in Springfield and was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church. She is survived by a brother, John Edelen of Versailles and several nieces and nephews.


Funeral mass for Elizabeth Eunice Edelen Ballard will be conducted at 11:00 am Thursday, December 17, 2020 at St. Dominic Catholic Church with Rev. Culpepper Elliott and Rev. David Farrell officiating. Burial will be in St. Dominic-Holy Rosary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Donnie and Zach Yates, Glenn and Mark Edelen and Marlin and Lawrence Spalding. Visitation will be at St. Dominic Catholic Church from 9:30 am till time of service at 11:00 am Thursday morning. Due to the COVID19 Pandemic, face masks and social distancing will be required at the church. Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
