He was born July 6, 1934 in Avery County, NC to Ray and Lorena Warner Bumgarner.
Mr. Bumgarner was a retired general contractor, and served in the United States Army.
He was a member of Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Banner Elk.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Storie Bumgarner; one brother, Jerry Bumgarner; and one sister, June Trivette.
Burial: Mount Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery.
